Business Development Manager - Midwest and Northeast, USA
SERCO Loaders, which is part of the GRYB International, Inc. group of companies, is a modern and established fabrication and manufacturing company located in Two Harbors, MN. It has been in business since 1968 and began manufacturing its own line of SERCO loaders in 1977. Our loaders have gained wide acceptance in multiple industries as high quality and dependable machines.
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us expand and manage our business in the Midwest and Northeast, USA. This position is responsible for maintaining and identifying new business opportunities to increase sales of SERCO products in the U.S., specifically the Midwest, USA (MN, Il, OH, MI, IA, ND, SD, MO, WI, NE) Northeast, USA (ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT, NY, PA, MD, WV, VA, NJ, DE and DC). This involves traveling and exploring new business opportunities to increase market share, forming new alliances, exploring new ways of targeting markets, along with providing ideas for new products and/or services to better serve the needs of existing and future customers. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with customers. The position reports to the Director of Sales.
The Business Development Manager would ideally be located within the territory, ideally Ohio, Wisconsin, Maine.
Salary for this position is based on experience with an annual range of: $75,000-$90,000 plus commissions.
GENERAL DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to the Director of Sales
Maintain current dealer/customer relationships and identify new dealers in area of responsibility.
Contact potential dealers to establish a business relationship. Directions will be provided by the Director of Sales.
Provide training and present new products to dealers and end users.
Follow up by phone and email with dealers to close new business opportunities and increase brand recognition.
Stay on top of market developments, researching the latest in the trends industry including storm cleanup, logging, rail. Create/identify new opportunities to expand business.
Attend conferences, meetings and industry events, such as trade shows and assists in the setup as required.
Use CRM SalesForce, as instructed by the Director of Sales.
Always maintain a professional demeanor and deal with challenges in a calm and logical manner.
Ensure dealer communication is clear and concise and that dealers are always aware of the status of their requests.
QUALIFICATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing or related field.
Five (5) years minimum of proven sales experience in heavy equipment sales, with a preference for those that have dealership and A frame loader experience.
Ability to express technical and non-technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
Strong understanding of company products and services.
Market knowledge based on previous experience.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to develop deep relationships with our key accounts.
Time management and planning skills.
Ability to travel with minimum notice and a willingness to travel up to 2 weeks per month, some weekend travel may be required.
Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of CRM software required.
